Which is your cathedral?

Examine your life. Which is your cathedral? Where do you find yourself worshiping the one who made you?

This is a composite of two images. One image is a cathedral, built by man with a tall classic medieval architecture, the other is a classic outdoor scene depicted on your typical nature calendar. The trick is, neither contain the God one sometimes encounters in either place.

This is what the LORD says:
"Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be? ~(Isaiah 66:1, NIV)

Ours is neither a theology where we can contain God in a church, or we can search and find God in the outdoors. Rather, we believe in a God who finds us!

The "Holy of Holies" and all of creation are filled with the presence and praise of Yahweh. This is a typification of how the Creator of all things desires to dwell within us, by His Holy Spirit. It is through Jesus Christ that He has made this known to us. You're right, neither religion (or anything man made) or nature itself can contain the LORD for if these things could, than it would be as if HE did not create them, since they would seem to be created for the purpose of containing HIM. This is the very reason that knowing GOD as LORD only comes through a daily intimate relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This begins with the conviction of repentance, confession of sin, and forgiveness. If we have put anything of man in greater priority in our hearts and lives before the LORD, may he bring conviction...and may we, as HIS church, learn to love HIS conviction and HIS righteousness.
